New York State 5 Hour
Taking a NYS 5 hour pre-licensing class will give you basic knowledge about safe driving and the consequences associated with driving while impaired, distracted, or being drowsy. The completion of a 5-hour pre-licensing class is required after receiving a learner's permit and before taking the skills test for a license.
Must bring your photo permit in order to be admitted.

The New York 5-hour pre-licensing course offers training in the following areas:

Safe driving within the highway transportation system.

Good driver habits, skills, and responsibilities.

Awareness and consequences of feelings, attitudes and taking risks while driving.

Awareness and the consequences of using alcohol, other drugs, and driving.

Awareness and the consequences of being drowsy or being distracted while driving.

NYS Vehicle and Traffic Laws.
-
The importance of the use of occupant restraints in a motor vehicle by everyone.
-
The importance of being aware of all vulnerable users on NYS roadways.
-
The importance of following the laws in construction zones.
